Welcome!

Here are some details to know for your 1:1 package.

  Welcome!

Hi there! Ava here. I am so excited to get to work with you, and humbled to be a small part of your healing journey. This little packet goes into a few more details on our sessions, what to expect during our time working together, and some more information about me!

  Initial Session

After you complete all of your forms, you will be able to schedule a 90 minute initial session with me using Practice Better. Please be sure to fill out your New Client Intake Form and 3-Day Food Journal completely prior to scheduling your initial session. We will be going over your health history, current health status and main complaints, and get to know each other better during this first call. Be prepared for lots of questions, and the more details you share, the better! Gathering this information face-to-face allows for the team to put a complete health history together to make the best decisions regarding further testing and protocols to implement. Usually, we do not make recommendations in this initial call since we don't have all the information we need to do so. Please upload any previous lab work that is relevant. (Please label all uploads appropriately so it is easy to refer back to lab value information.)

  Follow-Up Sessions

After our initial session and determining if and what further testing is needed, we can continue to schedule follow-up or results review sessions. Generally, the schedule is to meet every other week, but there is flexibility in this schedule depending on need! Please note, though, that all sessions for four month packages must be used within 4 months and all sessions for six month packages must be used within 6 months.

  Communication

You get access to me via messenger on Practice Better as part of your 1:1 package. Feel free to ask any questions or give updates throughout the week, but most of the questions and updates will likely be discussed during our next meeting. I respond to all messages within 24 hours.

Please give at least 4 days for any lab work or test results to be reviewed. It is, of course, fine to upload the results at any point, but please be mindful that we cannot review lab work that has been submitted right before an appointment since our schedules are full! It is always my goal to respond to any new information intentionally and integrate it into your bigger health history, and giving me time to research and develop a plan of action makes me able to do so!

You can expect a Report of Findings after your initial session, Results Review session, and Final Session. I will send appropriate session overview notes as needed for follow-up sessions, too.

  About Me

My Educational Background:

  • Master’s Degree in Advanced Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University
  • Dietetic Internship (Registered Dietitian Training) at the James J. Peters Bronx VA Hospital with an emphasis in Medical Nutrition Therapy and Whole Health
  • Certified in Integrative and Functional Nutrition from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Currently pursuing additional training in Integrative and Functional Medicine for Women under Dr. Aviva Romm

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to support you on your healing journey! I intimately understand the frustration of feeling let down by your own body- my passion for integrative nutrition and wellness stemmed from a need for my own deeper healing when conventional methods weren’t working for me. Now that I’m on the other side of healing from my own health issues & obtaining multiple degrees and certificates in clinical nutrition, my mission is to use these experiences to help you uncover your greatest potential for true health & well-being- which looks different for all of us. My loving approach to wellness considers the complexities and bio-individuality of each human being by blending science with intuition and intention to help you thrive as your healthiest, happiest self.

I’m currently based in Los Angeles, where I grew up after immigrating to the US from Iran with my parents at the age of three! When I’m not working with clients or in a deep nutrition research hole, you can find me hiking in nature, traveling to new parts of the world, getting my booty kicked in a pilates class, recording an episode for my podcast, or deepening my relationship with God through my spiritual studies and practices.
